The Ministry of Devolution and Planning (MoDP) mission is “To provide effective leadership and coordination in devolution and planning, policy formulation and tracking results for a globally competitive and prosperous nation”. In order to fulfill part of its mission, the Ministry, through the Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate (MED) of the State Department of Planning (DP), is expected to guide the Nation in attaining effectiveness and efficiency and focus towards achieving designated results. These ministerial objectives are in turn filtered into the performance contracts of officials and departments.
